Two Ways to Be Lost One Way to Be Found

Oct 12, 2025    Yuriy Karpenko

In this heartfelt sermon, Yuriy unpacks the three parables of Jesus from Luke 15 — the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the prodigal son. Through them, Jesus reveals the heart of the Father — a God who never stops searching, forgiving, and rejoicing over those who repent.

The core message: God lovingly seeks the lost, receives the repentant, restores the broken, and calls us to share His joy when the lost are found.

1️⃣ Every parable follows the same pattern: something valuable is lost, searched for, found — and joy fills heaven.

2️⃣ Luke, writing to Gentiles, highlights God’s mercy that transcends culture and religion.

3️⃣ The prodigal son story shows the Father’s initiative — running to embrace, not condemn.

4️⃣ The elder brother represents believers who obey outwardly but lack inner joy. Jesus calls them, too, to join the Father’s celebration.

💬 Main Call

Examine your heart: are you the lost son who must return, or the elder brother who resists grace?

God invites you to come home — and to rejoice with Him when others do.
