New Year, Same Savior
This sermon for the first Sunday of 2026 is centered on Hebrews 13:8:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
In a world full of uncertainty, change, and anxiety about the future, this message reminds believers that what we need most is not a “new version of ourselves,” but an unchanging Savior who anchors our past, present, and future.
Yesterday: the work is finished
Christ’s sacrifice was completed once and for all. There is no condemnation for believers — guilt and shame no longer define their identity.
Today: grace and mercy are available
Jesus continues to serve as our High Priest and Intercessor. God gives grace daily — not in bulk for the year ahead, but exactly what is needed for today.
Forever: the future is secure
Our hope is rooted not in our consistency, but in Christ’s faithfulness. Eternal life and God’s Kingdom cannot be taken away, even in times of crisis and instability.
New year — same Savior.
Our confidence for 2026 rests in the unchanging Christ.
